Ben Stokes donates match fee to Pakistan flood fund

Ben Stokes, England’s test captain, has announced that he will help the flood victims of Pakistan by visiting this historic tour. In a post on social media today, Stokes said that he will donate the match fee of each of the 3-match series against Pakistan to Pakistan’s flood relief fund.
Stokes wrote, “It feels good to be in Pakistan for the first time for this historic series. After 17 years as a Test team, it is exciting. There is a responsible attitude among the players and support staff, something special to come here. It is sad to see the terrible floods that hit Pakistan this year. Its impact is quite big for this country and its people.
Stokes, who has gone through many ups and downs in his playing career, wants to use the opportunity to give something back, “This game has given me a lot in life. It feels right to me to give something back beyond cricket. I will donate the match fee from the Test series to the Pakistan Flood Fund. We hope this donation will be useful in the reconstruction of the areas which have been affected the most.

The first Test of the 3-match series between Pakistan and England will begin on December 1 in Rawalpindi. The second Test will start on December 9 in Multan. It will start in Karachi on December 17. England are playing a Test series outside the country for the first time since Brendon McCullum became the head coach and Ben Stokes as the captain.
