Lionel Scaloni has returned to Spain after celebrating the World Cup victory in Argentina. His family lives in Mallorca. Scaloni once played for Mallorca, a La Liga team here. The club also honored him for winning the World Cup. All in all, this Argentinian coach is having a good time in Mallorca.
New Contract With Argentina Lionel Scaloni
As I give interviews to the media, praise is pouring in from all around. One thing is emerging from this. Scaloni completed his term as Argentina coach on December 31. A new contract is being discussed. But when will that deal happen?
Scaloni answered that question in an interview given to the program “El Partidazo” of the Spanish radio station “Cadena Cope.” This Argentinian coach said that he will go to Argentina and meet the president of the Football Association (FF), Claudio Tapia. There, the two will finalize everything about the new contract.
Scaloni said, “I will go to Buenos Aires in a few days.” We will try to reach an agreement with the president. That’s what I thought. But I have not decided when to go. I’m fine here in Mallorca with my family; I’m enjoying it. Earlier, Argentine media reported that Scaloni would return to Argentina and sit down with Tapia to sign a new contract. The new contract will run until the 2026 World Cup. However, it is possible that the announcement may come earlier from the Argentine Football Association (AFA).
Lionel Scaloni: “I’ll be traveling to Buenos Aires these days. I hope to meet with the president and see if we reach the agreement we want. That’s the idea. I don’t know what day I will travel because now I’m enjoying myself with the family.” Via @partidazocope. 🇦🇷 pic.twitter.com/p3QTIoWLMS

Scaloni’s comment on this was, “Maybe it (the announcement) will happen at some point,” but “other things are more important.” By “other things”, Scaloni probably meant the terms of the contract and the remuneration. However, he did not say anything clearly about this. He just said, “I want to go back to Buenos Aires and sit with the president.” I have a great relationship with him, and I appreciate the opportunity he gave me to manage the national team.We will let you know what will happen.
The 44-year-old Scaloni played in the right-back position. He played professional football from 1995 to 2015. From 1998 to 2006, he was at Deportivo La Corua. won La Liga for the team. In addition, they won the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey. Scaloni has spent most of his career in Spain, having played for West Ham and Lazio in Europe.
Apart from Deportivo, he also played for Racing Santander and Mallorca. Since his family lives in Spain, many people think that Scaloni may one day take over the responsibility of the Spanish national team! Scaloni was asked exactly this question in the interview: “Why not?” Spain has given me so much, and it is my second home. I feel like a part of this country.

But Scaloni did not go ahead and say anything. This Argentinian coach thinks that it is natural that Spain will want a Spanish coach: “Although I think that Spain has the full right to hire a Spanish coach… Dela Fuente (Spain’s current coach) has taught me a lot in the coaching course. a wonderful man. I will meet the (Spain) national team and him as soon as possible.
Lionel Scaloni
Lionel Scaloni brought Argentina to the World Cup as the third coach in Argentina’s football history. By winning the World Cup, he made his name memorable in the football history of the country. Scaloni has a contract with the Argentine Football Association (AFA) until the World Cup in Qatar, but if all goes well, Scaloni will be in the dugout as coach.
AFA president Claudio Tapia confirmed the talks between Scaloni and the Argentine Football Federation regarding a contract extension, although it has not yet been officially announced.
He said, “Scaloni is the coach of the Argentine national team.” Neither of us minces words. We agreed verbally. He has currently gone to Spain to resolve the passport issue for the child. We will discuss this issue when he returns home.
Scaloni took charge of a disorganized Argentina team in 2018. Then he made the team unstoppable over time with his skills. And this time, he elevated himself as a coach by winning the World Cup in Qatar.
